The mission of eXmerce is to help any business organization use barter to increase sales, reduce cash expenditures, and turn excess capacity into profit. We care about your business and we are committed to providing you with the best customer service experience.
Our vision is to help businesses grow and prosper using the eXmerce trade dollar currency, and to become Calgary’s largest trade exchange network.
After graduating from the University of Calgary in 2000, and spending time in the corporate world, I thought to myself there has to be something more. The tug of owning my own business had always been with me, and I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I just wasn’t sure what kind of business I should start.
When I was a kid, I loved trading hockey cards, marbles, or other toys with my friends. My love for barter started then. There was nothing quite like bargaining and getting that Patrick Roy hockey card! While I was checking out eBay one day, I had my a-ha moment! Something like this could work for businesses. If I took that childhood love of barter and made it meet with business, it would create a whole new way of way of selling in a like-minded community. That’s how eXmerce was born.
Today, eXmerce represents 400+ businesses. I’m proud to say we’ve built an amazing community that spans so many industries. I’ve been fortunate to make many wonderful friends between the business members and the eXmerce staff. Together we have shared and developed my vision of building a great company, and a family-like community of successful businesses.
I’m happy to have taken the entrepreneurial plunge, and I definitely have no regrets about leaving the corporate world.
At eXmerce, we believe in giving back and helping those who are in need. We support the following not-for profit organizations:
